The 5th National Youth Academic Forum on Geotechnics and Engineering in Cold Regions was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, from July 22 to July 24, 2022, with 1196 participants from 44 academic institutions and the conference was shared online, with 6266 scholars viewing and communicating with the conference. The theme of the 5th National Youth Academic Forum on Geotechnics and Engineering in Cold Regions is Low Carbon Sustainable Development of Geotechnics and Environment in Cold Regions. As the scholars exchanged are mainly young scholars, Li Xianglong and Zhai Jinbang, as the executive committee members of PYRN 2022-2024 in China, introduced and promoted the PYRN organization to the young scholars in this meeting (Figure 1 and Figure 2).

Firstly, the initiation and establishment of PRYN were introduced to the young scholars, the purpose and main objective of PYRN were publicized, and the development of PYRN and some academic organizations related to PYRN were introduced (Figure 3).

Secondly, as an executive committee member of PYRN 2022-2024, we hope that more young Chinese scholars will join PYRN and provide an introduction to some channels on how to join or follow PYRN (Figure 4).
